This is a copy of a chapter I co-wrote (with Alison Gilliland of INTO) for a book coming out next year, called ‘Flip the System: The Alternative’ or somesuch. It is being edited by two teachers from the Netherlands who argue that neoliberal education reform is turning school systems upside down and subjecting teachers to a command and control method of management.
We said that papers posted here would be short summaries – this is 5,000+ words (ie a book chapter) but could be gutted to something very much shorter. I am posting here in case anyone is minded to comment/critique it.
